The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a service of Scripture and song that dates to the late 19th century. In this service, we listen to nine Scripture lessons which recount the Fall, the promise of a Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission to preach the Good News. Each lesson is followed by a carol or other song that reflects on the lesson's message and a brief prayer.
All are welcome!!
Thursday, December 19 @ 7pm
Let's face it, for some of us Christmas is a hard season. Dealing with the death of a loved one, facing life after divorce or separation, coping with the loss of a job, living with cancer or some other dis-ease that puts a question mark over the future, and a number of other human situations make parties and cheer painful for many people in our communities.
Looking for a place to breathe and grieve during these frantic days surrounding the celebration of Christmas?
Join us at St. Thomas Anglican Church (4A Raven Drive) for our annual Longest Night Service as we come together seeking healing and room to acknowledge our grief, sadness, loneliness and confusion when these emotions often feel out of place during the holidays.
Come and breathe. Come and grieve. Come exactly as you are.
