Summer Festivals

At St. Thomas, we love being good and friendly neighbors! To reach out to our wider community, we host an annual Summer Festival Block Party on the first Wednesday in July each year.

Come enjoy a free BBQ, lawn games, live music, crafts, and a bouncy castle—all on the front lawn of the church. No need to sign up—just show up and join the fun!

This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your neighbors and build connections in our vibrant community. Best of all, it’s completely free!

We look forward to seeing you there and meeting you! 😊

Advent Festival and Kids Christmas Market

Each year, in December, St. Thomas hosts our Advent Festival, a fun and festive time for families to celebrate the season. One of the highlights is our Kids’ Only Christmas Market, where children can shop for Christmas gifts for the grown-ups in their lives.

Everything in the market is priced at just $1, and our friendly volunteer elves are on hand to help kids find the perfect gifts and assist with wrapping. This gives children the special opportunity to pick out, wrap, and give a present to their parents—all on their own!

While the kids shop, families are invited to enjoy a variety of activities, including:
🎨 Crafts
🍪 Cookie decorating
Hot chocolate bar
📸 Nativity Photo booth
🔥 Winter campfire

Best of all, all proceeds from the Christmas Market go toward our Christmas Fundraiser Charity, helping those in need during the holiday season.

We look forward to celebrating the season with you and your family! 🎄

Neighbourhood Easter Egg Hunt
Saturday, April 19, 2025 10am - 12noon

Every year, on Easter Saturday, St. Thomas hosts our beloved Neighbourhood Easter Egg Hunt, and it’s always one of the highlights of the season! Our congregation generously donates thousands of chocolate eggs to ensure a fun-filled event for everyone.

Families are invited to join us at 10:00am on Easter Saturday, when the hunt will begin sharp at 10:00am. The hunt will last until 10:30am, followed by snacks and Easter crafts in the basement hall. While we try our best to restock the Easter eggs for those who can’t arrive exactly at 10:00am, we do encourage folks to come early to join in the excitement with all the other kids!

It’s a joyful way to celebrate Easter, connect with the community, and have fun together. We look forward to seeing you there! 🐣🌸

Turquoise Table and Little Libraries

Turquoise Table is a global movement started by Kristin Schell who was on a mission to find ways to love her neighbours!  One day she decided to set up a picnic table on her front yard.  She painted it turquoise and began inviting friends, neighbours and strangers to hang out and do life together at the Turquoise Table.   Little did she know that a new concept of hospitality would unfold in her neighborhood, and before long The Turquoise Table® would lead to a movement of Front Yard People—ordinary people who long to create community right where they live.

Today, there are Turquoise Tables all across America from California to Maine. In all fifty states and in eleven countries, Turquoise Tables have become a symbol of hospitality, a safe place to sit down and connect over a cup of coffee or glass of sweet tea.

St. Thomas is pleased to have a Turquoise Table in our front yard!  We invited anyone who are passing by to take a seat and enjoy the love and hospitality of St. Thomas!  You are also welcome to take advantage of our new "Little Library" set up beside the turquoise table.

Take a seat.  Stay a while!

Ecumenical Mission of Strathcona County
SAVE THE DATES: October 19 - 22, 2025

Each year, churches from all around Strathcona County join together to host the Ecumenical Mission. The mission gives Christians from different denominations an opportunity to learn, visit, eat, pray, and sing together. Churches take turns hosting meals and events, chairing the planning committee, and inviting a guest speaker for the year.  The Ecumenical Mission has been going for over thirty years, and has furthered a true spirit of cooperation among participating churches. We are blessed to be involved with this unique ministry.
